North Cumberland Middle School


Summer Work for students entering Grade 6, 7, and 8 next year.


Students will be expected to read at least one book this summer, either from the choices that will be provided or a choice of their own. We ask that students log their time reading in 20 minute increments.  Homework passes will be given for every 3 hours worth of reading.  Please see the attachments for more information.


Students are asked to utilize the free online summer math resource offered by Ten Marks (more info at ). The school has been registered and the program can be accessed using the following link:

Here’s what you need to do…

  1. Set up a parent account. You will be given a username and password for your child or children (make sure you put the appropriate grade level for next school year).
  2. Have your child login at  . Your child will take an assessment then be given assignments.  His/her progress can be monitored by you throughout the summer!
